Try version 13.0 apk for android. I tried each successive version from 10 on up, and this seems to the last version that works on the Fire HD. It's a BIG improvement in speed over Silk. The sync feature to your computer works great.

There is no mobile Firefox 13.0 release for Android as it was only a Beta test build at time along with 11.0 and 12.0

Also mobile Firefox 17.0 is now released and is on Google Play.

The mobile Firefox 17.0 for Android is now officially out and is also on Google Play. http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/

Though Kindle Firefox does not have Google play and there is no ftp link at moment.

Never mind. I tried to help. And until Mozilla bothers to try and resolve this issue, this is the only solution. Whether the Moderators like it or not.

I had the same problem with my Kindle Fire, when trying to use Firefox versions 16 and 17, always crashing a couple of seconds after launch. Now I have installed version 10.0.2 and it works just fine.

This is all very interesting, but here is my problem. With my new Kindle Fire HD, I go to the Mozilla page to download Firefox and touch it. It says I must have the Google Play Store app installed first. But I can't find this in the apps section of the Kindle. How do I get it?

Good day.

Amazon blocks the Google app store. Amazon has their own app store which you would get Kindle Fire HD apps from.

Thanks for that!
