Firefox keeps telling me that various plugins need to be updated. I download said updates and still get told that I need to update all these applications. What's going on?

Hard to say without more details but I can see that your Flash plugin is a very old version (Shockwave Flash 10.0 r12). To update Flash, see this article:

Let us know what other plugins are showing up as outdated when you go to https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/

You have at least outdated Flash (Shockwave Flash 10.0 r12) and Adobe Reader (Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape "9.5.2") plugins showing in your system details list list.

You can try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder
