Am looking ahead to replace igoogle. I was hoping that Firefox could support installing some simple apps like weather, movies, news, gmail... etc.

You can't install an Android App on your PC (that's isn't Firefox's fault, that's just not possible). However, if you want to replace igoogle, there are a few things you can do: You can install an addon, go to addons.mozilla.org and install an addon that does what you want.

Find a website alternative to iGoogle.

In the future we are working on getting some improvements in Firefox that will give you more control over creating features like this :) look forward to those soon!
