How can I get Firefox 17.0.1 back??

more options

Todat Firefox did an update to 18.0. Now I cannot download any You Tube or other videos. I get a small window that pops up that says ' "Java Script Application" "Download error" I uninstalled Java and reinstalled it to no avail. How can I lose Firefox 18.0 and get back the Firefox 17.0.1 that I was using and that worked fine.

To avoid confusion:

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

cor-el thank you for the shout back. You include some links that I need to go over and see what I can understand to do. You gave me something to work on, so that was very helpful. I don't know yet if my problem is resolved, But I am working on it.
