Sony VAIO with Windows 7: Firefox crashes within first few minutes of starting. Did not happen initially. Can you help?

Changed laptops several months ago at work. Currently using Sony VAIO with Windows 7 OS. Changed over all information; multiple tabs open as "home". No issues for first months with running firefox. About 4 - 6 weeks ago, after opening, the program freezes and will not respond. I have to force it to quit. Gave up and changed over to Google Chrome. In-house IT dude can't figure out issue. I have no problems when using my personal MAC (same set up and home tabs).

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Yes! Most excellent! Thank you. (and you solved my unreported challenge of the resetting bookmark sidebar.)
