My web designer just launched my new website. She added social media buttons on the right-hand side of pages using 'Add This'. I am not able to see the social media buttons on my computer nor on my husband's laptop, both in home offices. A friend in another state and the web developer is able to see the social media buttons. Are they being blocked, how can I unblock them?

It's possible that the word "add" is triggering an "ad" blocker. If you are running an ad blocking extension (e.g., AdBlock Plus), see whether you can make an exception for your site or for whatever sites is associated with the social media buttons.

If that doesn't seem applicable or doesn't help, do you run NoScript or any other extensions that might selectively block content in a page?

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
