ff crash
FF shuts down every now and then without warning and have been doing so regardless witch version I have used. This time it was the !9. 6. I have now updated to the 20.0 but do not think it will stop ... is it not possible to make FF stable ? Pretty disturbing ......

hello philipp,
I posted some of the crash reports in the previous post, as you wished. Did these help you to analyse the problem ? R
Do you have crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix?
The ones that you've posted may not have been submitted.
If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have this format:
- bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.
- You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website, or open this page via "Help > Troubleshooting Information".
See:
All the crash reports on the list above is under the title ID-Report The following are the only one that starts with bp
bp-cd92a2bc-13e3-4907-925b-03c1421102072011-02-0716:34 bp-84bb0257-3201-4ce2-803d-ca59321012132010-12-1316:41 bp-78ed2c2b-1c8e-4e9d-9f78-ed3ae21003132010-03-1310:20

Can you click on the recent crash reports that don't have a bp- to submit them, then give us the new bp- number?

Hello,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
Can't you fix the crash bug wit the updates?
The crashes you are having are either empty, or generic Flash crashes, so I can't diagnose them from that. resetting Firefox is a good first step to troubleshooting
most of those reports come back as empty & don't contain a clue what is triggering the crashes. so it's hard do know what's going on...
another thing you could try is to update your graphics driver, or in case this doesn't solve the issue or there is no new version available at the moment, disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general.
You can also check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
- disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
- disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
Thanks ....
I think it is better to keep FF as it is ........... it seems to be to much trouble if reset it will "cause you to lose any Extensions" etc.
Any how thanks ............
