I was having a problem with firefox on my mac running osx 10.7.5 and the solution I read said my profile may be corrupt so I deleted it. Then I deleted firefox and reinstalled it. Now it says I am missing my profile and it won't start at all. I am writing this using another application as I can't get Firefox to run. Thanks!

Hi shinyperson,

maybe you should try starting the Profile Manager.

You should never normally delete a profile if it contains useful information. In fact unless you understand fully how Firefox handles profiles it is a good idea never to delete or even rename a profile. Normally all you need do as a troubleshooting step is create and use a new profile. Later attempts may be made to recover information from the old profile.

How did you delete the profile ? (What method did you use, and did you manually delete anything).

Normally when Firefox is reinstalled it will attempt to use an existing profile, otherwise it will make and use a default profile.

Delete the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new profiles.ini file and a new default profile.
