I'm unable to restore the previous session, and when I go to history, everything is blank. Can this be fixed?

I had to shut everything down on my computer last night. Normally, I don't worry about it and just go to history and restore previous session (though often the option shows up automatically when I reopen FIrefox. When I go into history and click on the Show all History option -- it looks like EVERYTHING has been wiped out. Is there anyway to get that information back? I have a Mac and am wondering if I can get that information via Time Machine somehow.

If u used Windows Vista and 7 1. Click the Windows Start button and type %APPDATA% \Mozilla\Firefox \Profiles\ in the Search box at the bottom of the Start menu, without pressing Enter. A list of profiles will appear at the top of the Start menu. 2. Click on the profile with “default” in the name to open it in a window. And for Windows XP 1. Click the Windows Start button, and select Run.... 2. Type in %APPDATA% \Mozilla\Firefox \Profiles\ then click OK. 3. A window will open containing profile folders. 4.
