I have used MSN Browser for several years and it imported my favorites at the time from IE and the OLD Netscape program. MSN Browser does share IE for the base Engine but stores its own collection of favorites. contacts, history, etc., which it does not share with IE. But the MSN Browser is starting to have capatibility issue's with current versions of IE and I need to move over to something else.

The MSN Browser does not look like it has a way to export from what I see on the Navigation bar on top. Should you go to a different browser you lose all your favorites, contacts etc., unless you MANUALLY add them which could take a lot of time.

Would you know of a way to import/export the information from MSN Browser to Firefox, etc.? This has been an on going issue for this particular program. Which I assume MSN Browser software does to keep people from changing because of what they may lose in information etc.. The first company to figure out how to move it over would have a leg up on others, not that many use the MSN Browser software by itself but there are the one's like myself have this small issue.

Eddyc, Thanks for the reply

I just happened to find an article and a converter site that actually worked in this situation and for others using MSN Browser. But it is not just for this browser alone.

Finished converting the MSN favorites to be used with IE and imported them into IE 9 and it worked like a charm. First time in ?? years that was very easy once you see how to do it from the site. The converter stored "bookmark.html" converted file in the 'download folder' on Windows 7 so check time and date of the convert to get the right one. Now to do it with Firefox. Very slick just find correct file and convert.

Hi,

It looks like there is no easy way built in to the browser to export the favourites. But have a look at the instructions here:

How to Export MSN Explorer Favorites

n.b. it looks like the link to download the MSN Favorites Export Toolkit is missing from the instructions. It can be found here: http://www.mainsoft.fr/en/downloads.htm

The instructions show how to export the Favourites and then convert them into an HTML file. Once you have the HTML file you can import them into Firefox by following the instructions here:

Import Bookmarks from an HTML file

I hope that helps. Let me know if not.
