With the latest build of Firefox Android, the tab bar will not remain open. As soon as I start interacting with the page, the tab bar slides closed. I'd like for it to remain open.

hello Andir, try this: enter about:config into the address bar, search for the preference named browser.chrome.dynamictoolbar & change its value to false.

This doesn't help. As soon as I start interacting with the page, the tab bar on the side goes away.

Steps to reproduce... Open Firefox (duh) Select a page from history touch the tab button in the upper left to open the tab bar scroll down the page watch in disappointment as the tab slides away

as soon as i toggle the mentioned preference to false the behaviour is exactly like in prior versions of firefox for android. i've only tested it on my smartphone though and don't know if the same applies for tablets as well...

This is a tablet, which is why I want to leave it open. When I open the tab bar, the whole page slides to the side instead of scaling like it used to. I'm not sure if that's related or not.

I've tried to force close just to make sure I'm loading with that set to false and it doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for your help so far. This behavior is really annoying and I'd hate to have to switch back to Chrome after switching everything over to Firefox!

Changing this setting helped a bit for me - at least I no longer need to swipe down to make the URL bar appear, so the 'show tabs' button is always available. But Andir is right, the tab bar itself disappears after every interaction, whereas in previous versions it could be toggled. I'd like to get the toggling behaviour back on my tablet please.
