trying to use website tennisplayer.net

coded heavily in javascript. none of the movies show on the page. the movie is in .mov format and is provided as a get query

http://www.tennisplayer.net/members/strokearchive/pro_men/petesampras/ps_forehand/ps_fh_center/ps_fh_center.html?PSFHCenterFront3.mov

let me know if a full page source would help.

Chosen solution

MPlayer used by Gecko media player can play almost anything, including QT mov files (3D files or panorama files will probably fail).

Maybe a browser plugin such as gecko-mediaplayer may help in this case (install using the package manager).

Is QuickTime (or equivalent) available for Linux? The MOV extension often indicates a QuickTime-compatible encoding.

problem is firefox does not allow explicit management of file types in preferences/applications !! what a bad joke. Netscape allowed easy editing of any file type. even after installing the gecko I kept getting ridiculous messages like "Python 2.7 needs to install plugins for decoding text/html" I had a lot of respect for Firefox, but apparently they are as mediocre as the rest. anyway, the solution: remove totem and all of its plugins. install the gecko. now it works.
