Try the full installer...
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Oh my god, thank you so much! Ive been working on this for hours and with your help it was done in five minutes. Thanks again!
Similar: I installed Firefox 25.0 over a week ago and I've received at least 4 messages (plus one that popped up today) saying it was strongly recommended that I install Firefox 25.0. I'll try the "full installer" solution, and will come back to this forum if I still get that message.
