how to change font on displayed web pages
We now have a huge number of web pages that display very small, greyish fonts on web pages. Content on a webpage should be at least as important as advertising.
We need a firefox Add On that with one click changes the webpage background color, and its font color to something that is readable. Not just change the size for the font.
Someone should take away from all those who design webpages screens the size of walls, and give them screens the size the rest of us can afford to buy, and make them design their pages while wearing glasses with a grey tint, and slightly blurry, and in a room with out perfect lighting to see a screen.
In the meantime, we need a patch, to change quickly change font size and color with one click.

I think in that case you should focus on just the colour section of the Change the fonts and colors websites use article I linked to above.

Probably the reader add-ons will be most effective on articles. It is simple to turn that on and off when you want to use it or not.
I hope that helps.

Hello,
The ability to change the font style and size is built into Firefox. Please see here for more detail:

You might also find Firefox's zoom function useful. See here for details:
Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages
If you read a lot of articles on the web you might find an addon such as Readability or Reader useful. These add-ons change the appearance of a website to make it easier to read and also removes unwanted clutter from the page to allow you to focus on the main content.
I hope this helps. Let me know if not.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. As I am sure you are already aware, size is not the first issue. The first issue is contrast between the background, and the font of the article I am trying to read.
Some webpages dropped using a solid color background to add some graphic used to be more a problem than now.
Now we have designers who I presume, are young, work on screens the size of walls in an environment which has perfect lighting, as opposed to trying to read news texts in a coffee shop with differing types of glaring light on a small screen.
The type of font being defined by the web page designer translating into a small grey characters. I do not emphasize the small, I emphasize grey. and by using zoom, I create a new problem in reading by having to constantly move the page around to see different parts of the same page.
Obviously no supervisor is going to make the designers look at their work in the way a lot of users have to use it.

You are correct, I did not realize that within the current Firefox Preferences I could over ride the specification of font size and color set by the web page.'
