When I right click the area at the top of the screen to customize the toolbar, the Customize window appears. When I click in the window I immediately get error message 'Customize Toolbar (Not Responding)' and the program hangs and I need to shut down Firefox.

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

You can also check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.
