I recently installed the "RT News" add-on from the Mozilla website. The Add-ons Manager shows it is up and running but I can find no trace of it anywhere and would like to know how to access it.

Thanks.

Chosen solution

Based upon the most recent review of that extension, there may be a fault with it, so waiting for the next version release might be the thing to do. Unfortunately, that developer provided no contact information, like a support email address or website, so there's no way for a user of that extension to know how to contact the developer or report bugs with it.

hello tom, the screenshot on the addon's page shows a button from where you can access recent news stories. please see if you can place that button somewhere on your toolbar like it's described in How do I customize or rearrange toolbar items?

Hi Phillip,

I could not find the RT button in the Customize Toolbar window (please see attached screenshot). Or am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks,

Tom

hmm strange, when i installed it for testing purposes it appeared by its own on the far right of the navigation bar. when you press the "restore default set" button from your screenshot, does the RT icon then appear in the customization dialog?

Hi Phillip,

Pressing the "restore default set" button resulted in several of my icons migrating to the customization dialog. Unfortunately, the RT icon did not appear among them.

Philipp,

One thing I just noticed: On most add-ons, the "Add to Firefox" button is green. On the RT News add-on page, it is yellow (Please see the attached screenshot). I don't know what that means, if anything, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Thanks for your help.

That yellow button indicates that the extension has been preliminarily reviewed, meaning that it is considered experimental.

the-edmeister,

Thanks for the clarification. Since it's experimental, perhaps I should just wait until the developer comes out with a hopefully more reliable version?

All the best,

Tom

the-edmeister,

I also noted the lack of contact information for the developer so will just wait for the next version.

Thanks for replying.
