When saving to bookmark folders, dropdown menu does not display all of them, just a few.
When attempting to save a bookmark, using "Bookmark this page" and then selecting Bookmark Menu to display a list of saved folders, the list of saved folders that appears is a short partial list. This list does not permit scrolling to view the remaining unlisted folders. All these folders are viewable/accessable when "Show all bookmarks".
Chosen solution
fredmcd, The method that seems to work OK is to use the method that you describe. It requires another click step or two, but I can see and reach all of my saved folders when saving a bookmark. Thank you for the work-around suggestion.
I would suggest that there is a bug in there somwhere that needs to be squashed. It prevents a complete list of saved folders and bookmark s from being displayed under Bookmarks Menu when Bookmark this Page is selected.
Thanks again;have a good day. rlhall3071

Hello,
Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.
- Use one of these methods to open the Bookmarks Library window:
- Click the Firefox button to open the menu and click on Bookmarks.
- Click the Bookmarks menu and click on Show All Bookmarks.
- At the top of the Library window, click the "Import and Backup" menu and select Restore.
- Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover.
- In the new window that appears, click OK.
- Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored.
For more information, see the Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer article. For other solutions, see the Recover lost or missing Bookmarks article.

Thank you.
On the empty area of the web page, right click. Then select BookMark This Page or press <Control> D. On the second line you see the folder to save to (BookMark Menu). If you press the down pointing arrow just to the right, it will show a list of bookmarks that were last accessed, HOWEVER, if you press the down pointing arrow on the far right, you will be given a menu of all the bookmarks.
If you are a visually oriented person, these are the buttons fredmcd is referring to (see attached screen shot).

Thank you for the reply. Upon selecting "Bookmarks Menu" the dropdown window that opens does show some of the saved folders but not all. This displayed list of folders and bookmarks is only 3 or 4 items long. I, however, have created and saved many more. How do I reach a folder to perform the save to if I can not select it under Bookmarks Menu?
Hello again. I'm sorry but I mis-typed my reply. Your response does not apply to my particular bookmark issue. rlhall3071
Are you sure that you click the second button at the far right of the folder line (i.e. not the one in the select)?
Note that bookmarks that you create by clicking the star in the location bar end up in the Unsorted Bookmarks folder.
Do you see all the bookmarks in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)?
- Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks
Thank you for your response. I have been using the down arrow at the end of the Bookmarks Menu bar. And yes, I can see all of my saved folders. It's only when I try to use the drop down list under Bookmarks Menu that I can not see all the saved folders. rlhall3071
You should see the same bookmarks via the Bookmarks Menu button drop-down list and in the Bookmarks menu (Firefox menu button and Bookmarks menu on the menu bar).
Do you see all the bookmarks in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; View > Sidebar)?
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
Maybe this screen shot is more helpful.
Is it the bookmark window above you are having trouble with, or this one. This is using the tree display. Press on the arrow to the right of the folder name to see a list of sub-folders. Click on the folder to open it and see what is inside.
