Yahoo Mail content is blocked by Firefox. I have to manually unblock each time.

When attempting to access my Yahoo Mail, the page is not loading and Firefox has blocked the content and I have to manually unblock (grey shield) each time I go to the site. This started happening 2 days ago. This never occurred over the past 3 years. How can I make the unblock permanent? This is becoming annoying.

Did you check what content is blocked?

You can open the Web Console (Tools > Web Developer;Command+Shift+K) and check the Net log for lines with a red mixed content warning icon.
Clear the log and reload the page to get an updated log.

If I did what you described then i see nothing in red. This all seems to be happening since the new yahoo version.

Isn't there any line that has a red heading at the left or a blocked content text?

Did you reload the page (Command+R) to get updated content?

I ended up using this fix and it is now working. However, I have no idea if this leaves me vulnerable on any other pages.

about:config

 security.mixed_content.block_active_content;false

i changed it from true to false.

With this pref set to false Firefox will always load mixed active content (JavaScript files and pages in frames) and only show a warning icon on the location bar just like you now get with mixed (passive) display content like images.

It's better to keep the mixed active content blocker enabled if at all possible.

Yahoo has been updating its servers and in some cases users accessing their mail using an old bookmark are not getting properly redirected to the preferred server for their region.

To find the best current address, try accessing your mail through one of these:

If you get to a server that works without a mixed content problem, change out your old bookmark for the new address.
