I run a web site that has 2 description boxes and under IE. It's and easy task to enter description in 1st box and then copy & paste into 2nd box but I'm unable to do the same on firefox. I have the instruction from firefox how to enable cut & paste feature but don't even understand the 1 paragraph of it. I'm running Win XP. Can anyone tell me in simple English how to enable cut n' paste please?

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page that doesn't require authentication (signing on)?

What do you get if you right-click in the description boxes?

Is that the context menu for a text area or something else?

You can use "Inspect Element" to open the built-in Inspector (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer;Ctrl+Shift+I) in case other elements are overlaying this box causing Firefox not to see them.
