Why is Google the homepage that comes up after restarting Firefox after it crashes instead of what I had as my homepage?

Firefox will sometimes crash while I;m using my computer. when I re-open iy after it crashes, it will no longer have what i saved as my homepage, but will have google.com saved as my homepage. It is aggrivating because I'll have to go back and restet all of the tabs that I had set to open up also.
