After upgrading to Firefox 28 on 19 March access to Australian Government agencies via AusKey no longer works. Error message says that software required to login is not installed. I have checked that required plug-in has been installed and is activated. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the required software.

Tried to access AUSKey again today via FF28, after 2 weeks of non-cooperation, and to my surprise it worked without a problem. I have been using USB access since FF28 stopped working. Hopefully all good now!

Hi Specky,

There was another question about this last week and there was an iquiry to file a bug on this. In order to better assist you, what troubleshooting steps have you taken to test the Auskey?

Hi guigs2, thanks for your interest. I have tried everything I can think of to get AusKey to work using FF28. I have had no problems with previous versions of FF for years. I have tried on two other computers on the same LAN and Internet connection, using FF28, with the same result. I have now resorted to AusKey via USB which uses a pre-configured older version of Firefox, but is much slower. Also, out of interest, I have been able to get Auskey to work using IE11 on my Win7 laptop, but AusKey will not work on my main PC using IE11, grayed-out screen hangs, no error message, so appears to be a different problem.
