Why did my computer (with Windows 8.1) stop accepting bookmarks?

I have new desktop with Windows 8.1. Until today, the Bookmark function worked well. For some reason, I am not able to bookmark any websites. I tried turning computer off and then rebooting after a few minutes. Still can't bookmark. The Mozilla browser was the most current one when I installed it about a month ago. Have no idea why this is happening. The bookmarks I already had are still there but I can't add new ones.
