My desktop operating system is Windows XP SP3. I had updated to Firefox version 28, but due to Bug 985968 I uninstalled the same and reinstalled version 26 manually. Now https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ does not work while going to the same via Add-ons Manager under Tools. It just keeps searching & searching and wasting a lot of time. Starting Google is also very, very, slow. Very, very frustrating. Firefox is set as my default browser.

Chosen solution

Hello gspal, for me it is better to upgrade to latest firefox version (28.0), and forget the Bug 985968, it is only the Java plugin with the error when you check with plugincheck, we all have the same issue till the bug is fixed. But think, that 26.0 firefox is vulnerable now and in the newest firefox most bugs from 26 and 27 versions are fixed.

thank you
