I have 32-bit Windows XP. I want to download the correct version of Thunderbird. The download instructions step 2 says to choose run when the download window appears, but I get only a save option. Why? and what should I do?

Chosen solution

Save the installer to your disk, e.g. to your desktop, and run it from there.

Make sure you download Thunderbird from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/.
