I downloaded the recent firefox browser and now i'm not able to download any music to my itunes player. Before it would give me the option to save the file to itunes or atleast download into the firefox downloads folder but now it plays in a new tab. I would like to know why firefox is automatically playing the music without asking me how i want to save the file.

What kind of format do these music files have?

I'm under the impression that Firefox on Mac still doesn't support plying MP3 files via the HTML5 media player, but QuickTime might be used to play these files, so you can try to disable QT to see if that helps to download the files.

  • Tools > Add-ons > Plugins

You should also be able to do download the file via "Save Link As" in the right-click context menu.
