Running W8.1 Update 1. I installed FF29RC1 which runs smoothly however when I close FF I can't start it again because it says its already running. When I shut down the FF service in the task manager, disable the update service in FF options, it runs wihthout any problem and I can start FF everytime I want to without any problem.

Chosen solution

Firefox 29.0 has been released, so no need to install a release candidate.

You can find the full version of the current Firefox 29.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Did you check in the system monitor if there still are Firefox processes running?

Did you install Firefox in your user account (~ or /home/<user>) or in a location that requires root privileges for write access?

I checked my version of FF which is 29. The software version history showed me 29RC1 so I guess I am ok now. Also the service seems to work fine now. When I shut down FF the service which is running in the system monitor shuts down too. Seems the problem is solved somehow but still gives me questions.

Thanx for the support.
