I have windows 7, on an alienware laptop. The updated version of firefox turns black when I move my mouse over it, it worked fine with the last version of firefox. I can't see the border of the window as well, it flashes on and off, as I said, this never happened with the last version of firefox.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
