Change firefox default new tab focus
I have set browser.newtab.url to https://www.google.ca/ in firefox about:config.
How to put focus directly on Google text box instead of the address bar when opening a new tab? The goal is to start typing directly after a Ctrl + T and use the Google Instant feature.
The default comportment: http://imgur.com/eLVIk0I Google Instant link : http://www.google.ca/insidesearch/features/instant/about.html
Thanks.

- Type about:config into the address bar and press Enter.
- To bypass the warning, press the big button labeled "I'll be careful, I promise!".
- In the search box, paste browser.newtab.url
- In the search results, right-click browser.newtab.url and choose Reset.
- Install Custom New Tab.
- Click the ≡ Menu Button and choose Add-ons, then Extensions.
- Next to the Custom New Tab entry, click the Options button.
- Enter whatever web page URL you want, or an internal URL like about:home or about:newtab, and make sure "Place focus in URL bar" is not checked.
Thanks a lot. Is there a way in about:config for instance where I can manually do the same thing?

You're welcome.
No, there isn't.
I have the exact same issue.
Mozilla, if you're reading, please make this an option (or even the default behavior). I like to install as few add ons as possible, and this is a small but annoying issue. I'd rather not install an add on for this.
edit: Installed the add on linked to above. Question: what does the 'preload this page' box do? It's checked by default.
