can't sync across two firefox computers
having trouble syncing across my firefox on imac and macbook. one compauter is already 'signed in' and give's me no options to add a new device on the sync page (lists accounts, sync options only), and on the new computer to be synced the options are new account (of which i already have one obviously), or 'i have nan account' which goes to pair a device which gives me three codes, which i dont need as thats the computer im trying to sync...
as it possible to sync two firefox's on two different macs?!
thanks

hello bbyford, firefox 29 has introduced a new sync system (with email+password) which is incompatible with old accounts set up in prior versions (with username+password+sync key).
you'd first have to upgrade all your firefox installations to 29, unlink the old sync account and connect the devices with the email and password you have used to create the new firefox sync account.

I have this problem too. I am using the latest Sync and FF on both MacBookPro and new iMac. I created a new Sync account on the new Mac, I disconnected my older MBP from it's existing Sync, 'deleted account' from Sync preferences there, and signed in from there for the new account. But when I choose Sync Now from the Tools on the new Mac, my bookmarks don't come in from the old Mac. Advice? Anyone? Should I create a new topic?
well, I figured out a solution that worked for me. I disconnected BOTH macs from my Sync accounts and deleted the Sync account. I restarted Firefox on both (for good measure) and then, on the old Mac with all the bookmarks, I created a New Sync account (new password). I chose 'Sync now' on that one (although there's no way to know when it's complete). Then I logged into this new Sync account from the New Mac, chose Sync Now and in came all the bookmarks. yeay!
