Sent folder from Hotmail is not synchronized, using IMAP
Hi, I installed Thunderbird recently and added my Hotmail and Gmail account (both using IMAP). With Gmail everything works fine but for my Hotmail account only the Inbox is synchronized properly. The sent folder contains mails I sent from Thunderbird and those mails are also in the webmail sent-folder. But older sent mails and mails sent from another device do not appear in the Thunderbird Sent-folder. "Drafts" and "Sent" are checked in the folder subscriptions menu. Thanks for help in advance. Steffi

Your server settings look good. I have no real idea what's wrong. Have you tried to delete and re-create the Hotmail account in Thunderbird? Since this is IMAP with all messages on the server, nothing will get lost.

There may be a problem introduced when you specify a folder in TB for sent messages. Since Hotmail (and Gmail) automatically copies sent messages to the Sent folder, uncheck 'Place a copy in' under Tools/Account Settings/hotmailaccount/Copies & Folders. Also, set 'Drafts folder on' to Local Folders for 'Keep message drafts in'.
Check that the account is also set up as IMAP on any other device, otherwise sent messages wont sync across all devices.
Deleting and recreating the account solved the problem. Thanks! Furthermore, Altering the settings like this: sfhowes said

Avoided having two copies of sent messages. Thanks!
