I just deleted the 57 version of Firefox and went back to 56. Why can't I customize to "text only" on the bookmark toolbar? I don't see an option for Icon/Icon & Text/Text as in the 56 version. Thanks for your kind help.

Please uninstall Flash 25.0 r0 100's of security issues. Flash Player Version: 27.0.0.187 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Icon/Icon & Text/Text where did you find this option in 56 (which is unsupported and a security risk , will not get updates) ? Also maybe forced updated again to 57. Note : 57.0.2 is current version.

If it was a addon Mozilla does not make addons for Firefox, Developers do. A lot were consigned as Legacy due to incompatibility with new code and also want access to what is no longer given in 57 due to security.

You may have to learn this and find code : https://www.howtogeek.com/334716/how-to-customize-firefoxs-user-interface-with-userchrome.css/ and https://www.userchrome.org/ and https://www.userchrome.org/what-is-userchrome-css.html and https://github.com/axydavid/FirefoxUI/blob/master/README.md https://github.com/wilfredwee/photon-australis There is a Reddit sub on this with a collection of code.

Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

#personal-bookmarks .bookmark-item .toolbarbutton-icon { display:none!important; }

The first step is to open the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" page and find the button to access the profile folder.

You can find this button under the "Application Basics" section as "Profile Folder -> Open Folder". If you click this button then you open the profile folder in the Windows File Explorer. You need to create a folder with the name chrome in this folder (name is all lowercase). In the chrome folder you need to create a text file with the name userChrome.css (name is case sensitive). In this userChrome.css text file you paste the text posted above.

In Windows saving the file is usually the only time things get more complicated because Windows can silently add a .txt file extension and you end up with a file named userChrome.css.txt. To avoid this you need to make sure to select "All files" in the dialog to save the file in the text editor using "Save File as".
