Stolen laptop, email account active on device

more options

Hi Mozilla Support Team,

My laptop was stolen by my old roommate who had access to it and also knew my password.

Now i had Thunderbird installed and linked to my private mail and I'm afraid that the account is still active.

Is there anyway I can remove the account or set a password so he can not access my mails anymore?

Thanks in advance, Felix

Hi Felix, did you already change the login to the account with your service provider? Then Thunderbird won't be able to send or receive on the account because it won't have the new password. Unfortunately, what has been downloaded will still be there.

Hi jscher2000,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I changed my password with my email provider and set up Thunderbird on a new device, only the new password was valid.

Have a nice day.

Best regards, Felix
