The Account Settings dialog shows a single account twice.
The account in question uses ExQuilla to connect with work Exchange server. A couple of days ago I lost connectivity (got no new messages) so I delete and remade the account using the same name. I did not notice until today that the account was now duplicated ONLY in the left panel of the Account Settings dialog. They are not separate accounts with the same name: editing the name of one renames the other identically. Every action I've tried in the left panel (accounts listing) begets "An account with this name already exists. Please enter a different account name." (t\The pop-up typically appears twice.)
I'm getting new mail, but I cannot assign a smtp server to the (semi-)new account due to the above. I can re-assign the smtp server per email but not set it permanently and frequently forget and this is causing confusion.
Is there any remedy for this?

I just notice that the account is duplicated in the Sent portion of the left panel on main screen (server listing and such). The account in NOT duplicated in the Inbox section of that panel.
My aplogies: Thunderbird version 68.10.0 on Ubuntu-20.04.1 I am NOT getting an new emails. When I select the account the old emails are listed but cannot be opened. As long as the account is selected the get-message-spinner is on.
