How do I transfer my bookmarks to an external/portable hard drive?

I know similar questions have been posed, but the answers I've seen seem either too techie or not applicable. Bottom line is I am losing my laptop next week and would like to transfer bookmarks (and Outlook address book if anyone knows that also) to my WD portable hard drive. Thanks!

Chosen solution

If you go to show all bookmarks (Ctrl + Shift + B) or:

  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks

There should be an option for "Import and Backup". You can export your bookmarks to an HTML, and save that file wherever you like. You can then import that file back into Firefox on your new laptop.

Syncing might be a better option though, please see:
