Sometimes I can't send emails to myself from/to TB. It works some days but not other. If I send from Google gmail it works, but not from TB. I have another emailaccount (not with Google as host), and that one works as it should in TB. I can see the messages in the sent box, so they have been sent correctly. Nothing in spambox, and no failure message.

Hi Chris1,

Thanks for your answer, but as I wrote, my problem is not on Google gmail, but on Thunderbird. Do you know where I can find a similar demo with the correct settings for TB?

Thanks in advance!

You're using Thunderbird to send a message from your Gmail address to your Gmail address. Correct? Do you see the message in your Sent folder? Then the problem isn't with Thunderbird but with Gmail. Please listen to the instructions carefully.

Sorry Christ1, I can't find the solution (or maybe just don't understand).

1, Correct. 2. Correct.

But it sometimes works to send Gmails from and to the same Gmail account with Thunderbird (not the two latest days for example), it always works when I do it in Gmail.

Do you still mean that I should change settings in the Google/Gmail-mode? Than I have another problem: I can't find settings or acconts on my version of Gmail as mentioned in the video. The person on the youtube-video has another version of Google/Gmail than I have. I still think it is hard to believe that the settings should be done in Gmail as the problem only comes in TB. But you say so, and than maybe it is so.

Can you help me to find my way to the right settings? The descibed workaround 2 (starts at 6:00 on the film) might be the best for me as I have more than one account.

Thanks for your patience.

Thunderbird is a client of Gmail. If gmail does not do it, Thunderbird can not do it.

But Gmail can!

When I log in via gmail.com I can send emails to my own gmail-account. I recieve them and can see the sent mail in the sent box.

When I send an email to my own address (xxx.xxx@gmail.com) from Thunderbird the email doesn't arrive, but I can see it in the sent box.

That is how gmail works.
