problem with Firefox fullscreen mode

more options

hello all,

i noticed something strange about the fullscreen mode. first of all is this.

when i am logged into Netflix through my browser the fullscreen mode does not enable! The top bar does not disappear at all. only sometimes. i can get netflix to fullscreen with the fullscreen button on the Netflix site, but this is a bit of a workaround. why is this? i want my sites, full screen, all of them all the time. Second, the fullscreen mode gets disabled after a relaunch from firefox. not really handy? to get in fullscreen mode you need to enable full screen mode and right click the top bar and select "hide bar"a

Thanks

Hi   !

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

By the way, the browser full screen feature works differently than the media player (content) full screen feature. For example, when you mouse to the top of Firefox in media player (content) full screen, the toolbars do not roll down.

Hiding toolbars in browser full screen is the default setting. If yours has been customized to show the bars and that customization keeps getting restored when you exit and start Firefox up again, the problem could be one of the issues mentioned in this article: How to fix preferences that won't save.
