How to disable pop up ads bottom left side of Firefox? Status-4-Evar is not compatible with FF Quantum, uBlock Origin is totally useless in this situation, many of these sites seem to have castrated uBlock Origin and rendered it totally useless. Here is a sample of this problem which is becoming widespread on the Internet: http://www.digitaltechglobal.com/the-server-995c996e-d918-4a8c-a302-45719a6f4ea7-did-not-register-with-dcom-within-the-required-timeout.html Once you get to the site listed above, check the bottom left hand side of your browser, you will see rotating small ads popping up every few seconds, most annoying, the worst part, it is no longer a unique situation, many sites are implementing this trashy ads. I downloaded so many ad block lists for uBlock Origin but none seems to fix this issue.

Case is not quite closed, you want a solution, here is a simple one on the fly: Forget uBlock, NoScript Add-On for Firefox will disable this mother... instantly. NoScript add on is not compatible with Firefox 57 and later, there are many script add-ons, I used the first one on the list just to prove the point, if I really wanted to disable this ad, the ad has no prayer against this kid. OK, now you may close it, Wait, wait, wait, see attached image as proof of the deed. Mission accomplished on the fly, now you may close this case, thanks a million, it has been quite a pleasure.

Hi, that is what websites do and adblockers do, it is a war, one makes changes the other..........and so forth with repeat over again.
Please see if you are carrying around anything that attracts the ads Please use more than 1 scanner as each uses diff tech :
Save your Report and google each before deleting anything as do not want to delete something you need, If need help :

Malware and Viruses are impossibilities in my tablet, it is a tiny pop ad in one site only and it doesn't repeat in any other site. Moreover this ad pops up in I.E. 11, in Google Chromium 63, in FF 56 and FF 59, in Windows 7 and XP from the very same site, so it is clear it belongs to this site and this site only. I was hoping someone knows which AdBlock FILTER can terminate this misbehavior, I was advised Easy List would accomplish this task, but it doesn't, other than that, I wish programmers at Firefox figure out how to disable this pop up before it becomes widespread on the Internet. I do appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue, all I really need is the filter list name that can accomplish this tiny task. P.S. This tablet is so clean and streamlined, it is errors free, it would put Bill Gates Surface Pro to absolute shame, I forgot to mention, I just refreshed Firefox 59 a couple of days ago and started anew, so there, no malware, not even a remote possibility.

How about adding a code to "userChrome.css" to disable all ads from "digtaltechglobal.com"... I am out of wits, sorry.
Totally understand your frustration - but it's not just in Firefox, like you said : it's on Chrome as well ......

Let's give this a try :
Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promise to be careful, if asked - but you probably already know the drill)
Type in the search bar and look for the preference :
dom.webnotifications.enabled
and set its value to false
Then close and restart Firefox.

It has been Very, Very false for sometimes which ticks off many sites notably the Weather Channel site which then refuses to show me the hourly forecast. It also ticks off Home Depot and Walmart, and a number of sites, so I am just going to have to turn it back on since it didn't work, like I said Kudos to "Proof Leads" they managed to defeat us for now, no matter, most likely it is a fade and if it isn't, someone will figure out how to defeat it. I can't check this myself, but when you first posted your question, didn't you see something like a 'Get email updates' button in the sidebar next to your question ?
As for the 'Proof Leads PITT' (last 'T' stands for 'toosh') : Call me stubborn, but I still think your uBlock Origin isn't doing what it's should be doing. Humour/humor (don't want to step on any linguistic purist's toes) : post a question here :

I will keep an eye next time I post a question about email notification, I have this option checked in my profile so why do I need to check it again? However I practically never post anything, my last question about Sending a Shortcut to the Desktop like I.E. does hasn't been fixed since Mozilla came up with this Quantum FF57 and most of the add-ons became obsolete, I am still keeping Firefox 56, I need all these add-ons, e.g. saving a site as MHT is a must, the add-on (Save Page We) in FF 57 and later does a horrible job saving complicated sites, Mozilla Archive Format is a must, so I am keeping FF56. There is a serious shortage of add-ons for FF57-59. The reason I am not pursuing this silly "Proof Leads", I only encountered it in two sites, the first site got rid of it and the second is selling malware to unsuspected surfers, it is a scam site in case you haven't paid attention to it. This silly app is intended for stupid and ill repute sites and it won't stay around for long. If I do encounter it again, I will pursue a resolution. These endless pop-ups aggravate customers, so why would you want it in your commercial site?. Mark my words, this "Proof Leads company" won't stay in business for long, its app is idiotic and totally worthless, that is just my humble opinion, will see.
Actually, I get that as well and that is coming from the site itself. I doubt if you block that if you find it that the site will allow you access to their site. I doubt your forecast is that reliable and they will remain in business in the long term. They do that for business and customer base whom click for help on their site. If you got formal complaints with it you should direct that to them directly. FF can't help you block or bypass their site since Mozilla has no control over what they do on their site. And usage of userChrome.css is from 3rd party not a Mozilla support issue. AFAIK it's embedded and you can't remove or block it.
Í just now had a 'live chat' with some guy from 'Proof Leads' (called me 'dude') : he says that webmasters ASK them to install these notifications ....
Then same webmasters ask them to remove it after much complains, not intended for serious commercial enterprises but for scam sites. Like I said, I only saw it in two sites so far, and one removed it almost overnight. Apparently uBlock has script blocking capabilities but it seems limited and kind of flimsy, I will look at it some other time, for now, I don't consider it an issue, totally irrelevant.

NoScript has an updated version for Firefox Quantum yet not published on Mozilla add-on. https://noscript.net/?ver=5.1.7 Of course it would be dumb to install it just to disable a useless and idiotic ad in one or two sites, you install it for serious business to block dangerous scripts or in my case to disable scripts which slow down Firefox to a crawl. I don't know where you see 'ver=5.1.7', but it is version 10.1.75 - also on the Mozilla Add-ons page, updated a day ago :
