Since downloading firefox 5 I often have the issue of the black lines across the screen when pages are downloading or when I am scrolling. I can only get rid of them by refreshing the page or moving off the page and then back again.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
