Whenever I open Firefox my Atlantic Broadband browser (my ISP) is redirected to http://go.goadvs.com and displays a amsll ad in the center of the screen and a redirect countdown timer on the page. When the timer runs out the page goes blank and the tab just says "New Tab". I can hit the back button and it returns to the ad, if I hit back again I return to Atlantic Broadband only to have it redirected to http://go.goadvs.com again. Sometimes it stays stuck in this loop and occasionally it will allow me to navigate in Atlantic Broadband. I also open AOL for news and it has never rerouted me when reading there. I gather it a a virus/malware, I'm just not sure how it got here or of the easiest way to kill it.

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
