How do I get back to previous version ??

more options

I just got the Thunderbird update and am now running 38.7.2

The new e-mail search function is really useless and it used to be great

Even if I know the title of an e-mail the new search function does not find it

so I really want to go back to the previous version of Thunderbird and I do not want to get an Thunderbird updates until the search function has been fixed

So... How can I go back to the last version of Thunderbird
