I moved from Charlotte, NC to Chicago. Changed Cable Companies. Set up gmail account in my Thunderbird. Cannot delete old road runner accounts and each time I go into Thunderbird I am asked for passwords to old accounts and endless time and of course, they do not accept passwords as accounts closed. I called TWC RR and they said only you could fix that. Thank you so much in advance for your help. Pauline Metzger

Chosen solution

If you remove the account, all the messages stored in it will disappear. Move them to Local Folders.

Go to Tools|Account Settings

A settings window appears. Click on the unwanted account to select it. Now go down to the bottom of the pane where your accounts are listed and there is a button. Click this and you'll see a short list of actions, including "Remove account". You may need to set a different account as the default if the one you're trying to remove is the current default.
