Unfortunate on my windows PC, master Password is removed after upgrade firefox from 52 to 53. I tried to setup the new password (old password and new password) but always getting error popup "Unable to change master password". I read an article where suggested to move important files (logins.json, key3.db) to other location. I moved and tried to setup new password. But did not get success. Could you please help why old password is removed and why not able to set the new master password.

When you manually remove logins.json and key3.db then you should start with fresh password files. You will have to make sure that Firefox is closed when you rename or remove these two file.
