This happening with regularity and without warning in the middle of application programs; and I really have no idea what is causing it. I suspect there is a run-time issue of subsidiary media programs when for example Bloomberg.com; guardian.co.uk etc have integrated running programs that maybe faulty which cause firefox to crash out. It would be nice if a flag appears, warning the user to that effect, before a complete 'wipe-out' of other windows programs that may be open are lost on a crash.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP- in front of the numbers/letters, click it to submit them.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Press the Reply button. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Sorry FRED; I'm certainly NOT going to post an URL of Firefox crashing on my home email page ! One has to show responsibility and it illustrates the absurd (no confidence) situation one is in. Perhaps Mozilla could recommend using a lower pedigree version for those like myself with relatively low line IE speeds. There was a quiet time when there weren't that many problems, but now it's gotton bad.

The crash report will show what pages were in use at the time, but will not show any passwords.
