Address bar won't drop down, even when clicking on down arrow

When I type in the address bar, my bookmarks & web suggestions don't drop down at all. Even when I click the down arrow in the address bar nothing will happen. I do have the option checked, and I am on the latest version of firefox, have restarted in safe mode & refreshed, and cleared my cache. What else can I try?

Hi, not a Mac person here so if you can figure out from my Windows instructions what is needed then great.

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 58.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

Note it is possible that the Profile is the issue. Create a new profile as a TEST to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.
