Is it possible to prevent a site from changing the title when the tab is not active

more options

Some websites, like car rental agency sixt.com or other booking websites, will constantly change the title of the tab when the tab is not active while checking the offers to draw your attention. This can be incredibly annoying. Is there a way to stop/block/mute this?

There's not a quick and easy way. Two thoughts on possible ways to do it:

(1) Inject a script into the page that watches for title changes and immediately restores the title to the text of your choice (or deletes the title).

(2) Create a custom style rule in userChrome.css for the problem site's tab that hides the title or possibly replaces it with static text (assuming the name of the site is always in the title, or using the URL of its site icon)

How often does the title change? I haven't noticed it, possibly because I'm blocking some of the site's scripts.
