After updating my FireFox (I had been running v49 for a long time), Google Hangouts broke. I read up on FF dropping support for certain plug-ins after v52, and a Google Help page advised that I needed FF "ESR". So I installed that and am <strike>not</strike> on FF ESR 60.1

However, any time I try to join a Google Hangout, it still prompts me to install a plug-in. When I do, that plug-in installs, but never appears in the FF Tools/Add-Ons/Extensions list, and the Hangout page just sits there telling me I will be joined into the call as soon as the plug-in installs.

Does this really work in FireFox or not? And how do I make it work if it does?

Needed to correct a major typo. I meant to say I AM on FF ESR 60.1
