I have installed Thunderbird on a new 64-bit Windows 10 machine and migrated my profile from an old 64-bit Windows 7 computer. All of the folders and message headers appear normally, and TB downloads new message headers, but when I click on the messages, old or new, all I get is a completely blank page opening. The messages are intact on the IMAP servers, and I can see them in webmail, but they won't open in TB. I have tried repairing folders and reinstalling TB, but nothing seems to work. Thanks!

Does it look the same in safe mode?

This is weird: It does work in safe mode, but I have no add ons or themes. What else is safe mode changing? Thanks!

Your instruction to revert to the default layout worked -- thank you! But it's kinda messed up that using a particular layout of icons -- which worked before -- would stop the program from performing its basic function, and require all this troubleshooting. Thanks again!
