A secure connection error was showing a google certificate error that seems to be related to having both the google and yahoo toolbars active in the firefox browserthat stopped firefox from working properly. My workaround was to cancel (not exit) out of the secure connection error pop-up warning without exporting the certificate -.google down to the desktop. Then I needed to hide (uncheck) from View and then DISABLE the 'google v7 to0lbar' by managing Add-ons under tools on the menu firefox toolbar. The Mozilla firefox browser then worked without error messages to access a website... Any one know of a better workaround to keep both the google and yahoo toolbars enabled and active (checked and shown) to the Mozilla firefox browser (home) start-up page?

Have you tried updating the Google Toolbar extension?
A new beta version was released in mid-November.
