I've had 'credit score' pop ups from 2 unconnected sites starting with the URL http://cdn.optmd.com/ tonight, despite having the pop up blocker enabled, including Snopes and one about old TV shows.

Does the URL sound legit? How is getting past my blocker?

I'm running MSE and Spybot just in case they're dumping malware, but if anyone has any thoughts, esp on how to block them properly, I'd be obliged. Thank in advance.

I just visited their site, and it looks legit. Apparently, I'm getting pop-unders rather pop-up, so they sit under your browser and hit you when you finish browsing. I'd still like to cut them out as they're a bit annoying. Any clues?

Thanks for replying. That will teach me to read things more carefully. That's also a fair comment about advertising.

Hi there.

Still having problems with what look like pop-up ads. This is the link I have saved on the desktop

file:///C:/Users/Admin/Desktop/european-project-engineer-937415483.htm

.. from the original site http://www.jobsite.co.uk/job/european-project-engineer-937415483?src=search

I have pop-ups blocked and I've cleared cookies in Firefox. Can't see where I do an "opt-out".

Is there anything else I can do?

(Note: I have an up-to-date McAfee subscription - full protection)
