I just updated to Firefox 8, and have not been able to open it since. I have tried starting in Safe Mode as well, but it continues to crash.

I have also disabled my firewall, but that did nothing.

This crash is caused by Roboform. Updating Roboform to version 7.6.2 should stop the crashing. See related bug in the crashreport.

I guess they always hope a new version of firefox causes fewer not more crashes I wonder if this is associated with use of Roboform.

Other than asking if you have plugins that may cause problems I am unable to give a useful suggestion other than suggesting trying disabling plugins. see troubleshooting extensions and themes

Disabling plugins is impossible - 8.0 doesn't work at all except to crash. I uninstalled it and rebooted and reinstalled but it still crashed.

So what I did is uninstall it again and download 7.0.1 and install that. Now Firefox works again. That would suggest an issue with add-ons but if anyoine else has this issue they also will have to roll back to a previous version to be able to disable addons.

In this case the problem was definitely with Roboform. As part of troubleshooting (after I sent the problem in), restarted my computer and it Firefox worked fine. I thought that might have been it, but then I read these suggestions and realized that I had not restarted Roboform 2 Go. Just now, I downloaded the latest version of Roboform2Go (7.6.2) and Firefox is currently working like a dream!!!

Roboform v 7.6.6 still crashes.
